Unai Emery Etxegoien ((:uˈnai ˈemeɾi); born 3 November 1971) is a Spanish football manager, currently in charge of Sevilla FC. During his playing days, spent almost exclusively in Segunda División – 215 matches in seven years – he played as a left midfielder. He subsequently embarked on a managerial career, spending several seasons in La Liga with Valencia, where he led the team to several third-place finishes. In 2013 Emery signed with Sevilla, taking the club to consecutive Europa League victories. ==Playing career== Born in Hondarribia, Gipuzkoa, Emery was a youth graduate of Real Sociedad, but never really broke into the first team (aged 24 he appeared in five La Liga games, scoring against Albacete Balompié in an 8–1 home win). After that, he resumed his career mostly in Segunda División.
